SEAFOM is a nonprofit educational organization dedicated to support schools and individuals throughout Southeast Alaska by promoting, developing, implementing, and maintaining Montessori education, as created by Dr. Maria Montessori.
SEAFOM is a membership organization founded in 1994. For more than 20 years we have financially supported dozens of teachers, at every level of the Montessori continuum, to obtain Montessori certification through the Association Montessori Internationale (AMI), which is known for its high standards, in-depth and hands-on training.
We provide scholarships to families of modest means to remain in private Montessori programs during their kindergarten year to ensure the completion of the three-year cycle in the program, but most importantly to support the culmination of the child's Montessori experience at this stage of development.
We support Montessori programs in every possible way to ensure their success.
